I have some wicker furniture that has faded from the sun and age. I requisite to paint it but wondered if there is certain paint to use and what I do to prepare the wicker to make the paint last??
DO NOT USE OIL-BASED cosmetics outside. Use a latex acrylic. This is 2008 people.
Look for the "outdoor furniture stain" available, it's actually a plastic coating that will "flex" and rise up to the elements.
Do away with dust from wicker by vacuuming with the dust brush attachment. To remove grime, absterge with a solution of 2 tablespoons ammonia per gallon of water. use a paintbrush or a toothbrush to get at clear-to-reach places. Rinse well. Air...
For oneself, I think it would look great. I love wicker furnature.

Dear Glenn: I have a screened porch, and above which is a balcony.
Currently, the balcony is a sub-marine plywood floor on top of the roof covering the porch. On top of the cons-plated, I believe, there is a membrane.
Stuck on the edges of the membrane is an outdoor carpet. But the carpet dries and is full of moss and dirt.I want to get rid of the carpet, then put a coating on the membrane or plywood.
During a previous radio show, you talked about GACO elastomeric coating, if I understood well. It was for a woman who wanted to finish an old bridge. My question is whether there is a product I can use to put a thick elastomeric coating on the balcony? Would take this product until sunset, washable, and have some resistance to puncture or tear? And what substrates can be applied resulting in good adhesion?
