We grew some vegetables in a small room, but most of our food from IGA Rowe, Sherman Street A & P or Bazely's Meat Market on West Wayne Street. Frozen food had not come to our refrigeration system, the pizza was delivered in our distant future, and everything that came to our kitchen table from a pot, a stove or an iron mold muffin.
We began our work week Monday with washing and ironing on Tuesday. Each day, the kettle of soup simmered assigned on the stove nearby. Monday was the soup of vegetables and beans and ham meal was representative on Tuesday.
