White Pigeon - This is the seventh house Linda Clark, co-owner of Sturgis Molded Products has built and decorated.

For his own house, she wanted the kitchen to the accent, but there would be some difficulties.

"Decorating is my passion," she said.

Six years ago, Clark bought a narrow site on Klinger Lake only four houses in a home where she grew up.

The Clark had bought the house would be demolished, and the Klinger Lake Association rules required any new house must be built on the footprint of the old.

"I worked with my uncle on other houses, but he had retired, so I decided to do subcontracting for it myself," she said.

With the help of Joe Lillich, of LaGrange, Indiana, she designed floor plans to accommodate the 75-foot lot width and 120 feet long.

Clark Amish contract manufacturers for the construction and hired electricians, plumbers and flooring experts.
