My desk must list at least two file drawers. I would like to have a large desktop area. I would also like to have a eminently hutch area above. The whole desk is to be built in place preferably.

Laptop Q&A: Power Off Quickly, Fix Sticky Keys
Shawn Here is the problem: "I have a Dell Studio. When I turn off my computer, the button light stays on and flashes. The only way I can stop it from flashing is to disconnect the battery, then connect it again. Please help.
I have a fairly good idea of what is happening here. Shawn's Studio using the power button to turn it off, but it is actually putting the system into standby. This could explain the LED blinks. There are two easy fixes for that.
First, you can click the Start button, the mouse arrow on the bottom right of the Start menu, then click Stop.
What is it? You say that you were clicking on the little power to the right of the search box? Nice try, but the default setting of Windows to the icon is the same as your physical button standby. No worries, I blogged about how to turn the knob of Vista in a standby power button.
Second, you can change the function of the power of your laptop so that pushes the button, it does shut down Windows, rather than the pause (keep reading to find out how to do this).
