It's Politics: Linda Sanchez's son steals the show at Democratic Club speech
When Rep. Linda Sanchez spoke to the club by Mark Twain Democratic, she made national news, but it was not the real success of the night.
It was Joaquín Sánchez, her 13-month-old-son, who she brought to the club meeting because her baby sitter had to cancel.
And if everything Sanchez, D-Lakewood, was busy talking, he was just holding his son, or the power of his son or to his son to walk.
And of course, his son - perhaps prepare to be a politician himself - kept reaching for the microphone.
"I thought it was fantastic it could be a mother and yet our member of Congress and be so calm about everything," said Lillian Gonzalez, president of Mark Twain Democratic Club.
"I do not know if I could have done that," said Gonzalez. "She continues to speak with one hand pulling it up and put his other hand in the high chair."
Gonzalez and a few others took the baby for a while. Therefore Gonzalez Sanchez missed comments she believes white supremacist groups were behind the controversial law on immigration in Arizona.
