Dear Tim: I am in the market for a new kitchen. The older I get, I do not get more flexible. A kitchen designer was singing the praises of using one or more drawers cabinet for easy access to pots, pans and appliances. I always had shelves inside my cabinets. You'll thank your lucky stars you come across this designer kitchen. My wife and I have done something similar. Our current kitchen has a wooden drawer - or more - in each cabinet in our kitchen. I must tell you that when my wife Kathy has ordered all of them, I do not think it would be my life easier. Oh, well, yet another time when she was right and I was wrong!
