He is just not very good. It is too bad.
Brodowski is actually a good artist, even if his style is a little rough. He sees the world with one eye slightly yellowish, and the best part of this book is looking "normal" and watch events as they twist things in very different and weird. Worldwide Brodowski, Jason Voorhees walks in the woods having adventures, hiking death of a motorcycle through a window, and the men dress up in costumes and go squirrel in the forest.He designed the giant fox-headed birds rising over the mountains and terrorize, destroy aquatic dinosaurs medieval armies with radioactive breath and a character is knocked out of his car completely out of the panel structure of the history by a giant paw. It is a breathtaking experience watching this comic, because you never know what strange thing will happen next.
The problem is that writing is far from Brodowski skills of art, and the book becomes a litany of random strangeness with very few of us engage.The son narrative very few seem to follow the men who are mainly teenagers arrested abandon their lives and escape, but without context, who cares? They stand out like petulant children. Jason's adventures in the woods are strangely compelling, as the search for meaning and finds it in a standard place if a little unexpected, but it is not interesting enough to overcome the rest. Some of the more surreal stories - the aspiration to be a hatchet man, for example - are mildly amusing, but that's about all.There's just nothing in the book that makes you think more than a second or two, and anything that throws you so offbeat that you review the universe in which we live. These are almost but not quite, random images thrown together. The book is almost without words, so Brodowski has his pictures to tell stories, stories and expertise on this - despite some nice drawings - are not good enough. Whenever I read a book like that, I just assume that I'm not smart enough to "get it". Well, I do not understand.
